How do I go about dying my hair blue?

I'm Filipina; I have shoulder-length black hair and mocha skin. I've been thinking about dying my hair a dark shade of blue... but more of an undertone, something you'd see in the light, than a full electric blue dye... and I'm not looking for anything permanent, either. Would you recommend this, or dying just the tips? And dye brands you'd recommend? And do I need to bleach my hair first, especially if I'm not looking for a permanent coloring?

DON'T bleach. It'll be a disaster. You don't need to bleach your hair to get a blue tone.

L'Oreal Color Pulse washes out in 8-10 washes (or so it says), try that.

Semi-permanents will leave your hair will a blue tinge longer (20+ shampoos)

i dont know if u thought of this yet but do u work outside the home? do you go out in public often where kids are around? do u have children? I am not being "square" or judgemental. i remember i wanted my hair pink so bad when i was 19 thats 10 yrs ago. so i dipped in cool aid to start did just the ends.. then i died my whole hair i have natuarlly blonde hair and everyone told me i mest up my hair. after i did that extreme it took me a while but realized i just get bored easy and i know i wont go to that extreme again for me anyways.. the reason i ask about your job, if any kids cause children look up to adults they take everything in and its just u dont wanna get prejudged just cause your hair is blue.. people to judge. my sons screamed like never before when he saw this feller he had a skeleton tattoo on his head and his bottom lip was pierced about 3 times same for his ear lobes.. scared the hibby jibbys out of him. expecially if you have a professional career it isnt a good look.. unless i guess u own or work in a tattoo shop or a skateboarding store or somewhere along those lines. if you know u wanna die it then try bluberry or razberry cool aid it last about a week. I use Nicky Clarke's Liquorice at the moment and it makes my hair a really nice blacky-blue which is dead subtle.

My natural hair's dark brown and I'm from England, though. Do they have Nicky Clarke in the Phillippines(sp?)?
