i have dark blue balck in my hair and i want o dye it brown. how do iget it out? i tried previously and it didn't really work. i don't want to go to a proffessional?

Don't try to do it yourself, it won't work and you are bound to make a mess and ruin your hair... Spend the money and go to a professional who will know exactly what to do. Black dye is really hard to get out of hair, and the products used to remove it tend to be unpredictable and harsh on the hair. Not something you want to do on your own...

If the dye is fresh (less than a few months) they might be able to lift it out with a sulfer based product that removes the dye from the hair. This doesn't often work, and if the dye job is older it won't work at all. After that the only choice you have is bleach. That will take your hair down to a lighter color, but bleach is EXTREMELY unpredictable... if you leave it too long it can turn orange, and bleach reacts differently to each person's hair... it can also break your hair, and cause it to be brittle and dry... do yourself a favor and go to a professional or you might end up having to spend alot of money later to fix a mistake you make

Go brown trust me only hope and even then it looks kinda lame its like dark blue tinted brown looks like crap...

You cannot put brown over black %26amp; make it lighter. Picture this a black square now if you color the square brown over the black it will not make it light. Maybe even darker.

It will fade a little after washing it many times. But you will need to bleach it out. i would not try that myself. Bleaching is a strong chemical %26amp; can burn or break the hair or scalpe. Have you thought of going to a hairdresser to get some red hightlights in the front. A few foils. The hair will appear lighter %26amp; it will not be as expensive. .Most haridressers will talk to you about the process before you make an appointment. Most will talk to you for free but check first.

I too once dyed my hair too dark. (It was black.) I looked like a zombie it was so unflattering. So I decided I could fix it at home. I had a gay friend (wonderful with hair!) come over to help and we bleached it. Twice. You know what's worse than black hair?? Hair that is White on top, Orange in the middle, and Brown at the bottom. Oh, don't forget the black underneath and the bright fire engine red scalp from all the bleach. I went to the drugstore (with a bandana on my head, or course) and bought brown hair dye. Just imagine the beautiful picture i just painted you and mix in the color of Mud. And orange and white and black and red.

Trust me. Go to a professional.

I went the next day (again with bandana.) After warning me that all my freaking hair might fall out from over processing, she managed to lighten me up. I walked out sans bandana. Oh. And the $80 bucks it cost me. Add in the $30 I spent on at home dye and bleach and the mortification of looking like bozo on crack and it would have been better to just go get help the first time. You don't want to look like that. Or be bald.
