My little brother wants to dye his hair blue what store can i go to that sells blue hair dye?

he is looking for something that looks black but when shining in the sun looks blue. i am looking for something that is removable after one wash since i want him to see how dumb it looks before he actually decides to make it permanent.

Any good stores?

I remember a store on St Marks Place and Second Avenue in the East Village called Manic Panic - there's a record store there now. It catered to the first punk rockers and the sisters that ran it were back-up singers for Debbie Harry (Blondie) - they've moved their business to Long Island City, but they still sell all the hair dyes, etc online - I see there are temporary dyes, too.

Walgreens and Rite-Aid sell temporary dyes in gel and mousse form - strange colors, blue, green, purple - made for streaks, but you can cover a whole head of hair with it.

The easiest and safest way to see what you look like with blue hair is to try on a wig.

My suggestion is that you use Kool-Aid. Seriously, it REALLY works, and the best part is: it doesn't damage your hair! It might sound a little tacky, but actually it's really fun and not weird-looking at all.

There's really no product that will give him the result he wants that washes out in one wash. There are semi permanent colors, which might give him a blue/black result(especially if he has lighter colored hair), but these take anywhere from 8-24 (or more) washes to come out. In all cases, black is fairly permanent, even when the box says semi or demi permanent.

If you're looking for more advice, try www.haircrazy.info. There are some good brands of blue color that while not temporary, will wash out within 2-4 weeks on unbleached hair. If his hair is dark, some of the dark blues would probably give a blue/black result.

The only thing I can think of as temporary would be hairsprays or hair gels, but I don't think I've ever seen one in a blue/black color.

Try Sally Beauty Supply if there's one in your area. They might have a temporary product(spray/gel), but keep in mind that it won't look as good as coloring it permanently.
