Just because people are old doesn't mean they don't want to be creative with their appearance anymore. Also, some old people feel rebellious just like a lot of young people.

I know a goth guy in his late 40's with long black and purple hair which he ties in a pony tail. He looks really cool. It's him, his identity. Sometimes people in the street point at him and laugh but he doesn't care. He's proud to be an individual. Good for him I think.

Some old people were too shy and inhibited to be outrageous when they were young. Then they get older and they get more confidence and wish they hadn't missed out when they had the chance. Some of these say, "Screw my age - I'm doing it anyway!".

That's not the actual intent for most of them. It isn't DYE, it's a rinse. The blue rinse is intended to take the nasty-looking yellow out of most gray hair, bringing it back to a nicer looking gray.

Unfortunately, it does often come out looking blue. But it's not intentional. For most of them.

I always wondered this myself. So I askedone day when I had to give a treatment. They dont do it much anymore - where I'm from anyway. The reason they liked it was they thought it made their hair more shiny. It was a demi permanent color or a shampoo (shimmer lights) that we would wash in and ten minutes later they felt as lovely as a cloud. :)

grey hair can 'yellow' so some people put a blue rinse in to counteract it.

I like to see people with different hair colour, it isn't natural, who cares, almost everyone goes out and dyes there hair, just to change it a tiny tiny amount to a natural colour.. when you can use all the colours in the world, people use a colour that is different usually to show that they are different themselves, I personally have had blue:green, 50:50, all green, all black, black with pink blotches, black with pink streaks, black with 1 pink streak, black with red streaks, black with 1 red streak, it is how I want to look, I hate my natural hair colour, who in the world likes natural boring colours..yellow, brown, orange.. thets all get lime green hair :P
