I dyed my hair blue black...but why can't i see the blue?
Because the black is covering it.

i did this before with violet
it usually only looks blue or violet
in certain lights
like some people who have dark brown hair
but it looks black
but you can see the brown when the light
hits it a certain way.

Your hair color you started with might have effected how the color looks on your hair

I did the exact thing a couple of years ago. My hair looked really black, too (and my hair was originally black, anyway). The thing about blue-black is that you can only see the blue in the sunlight. But it looks more black then blue. I only noticed this because I was wearing a black t-shirt and my hair was compared against it and it was totally blue. I think that that's how the color is supposed to look but you know, the longer you wait before you wash it off, the darker it'll be. (or is it the other way around?)
To see the blue more, you could bleach your hair first. But I wouldn't recommend this because the blue fades into a really ugly chlorine-green.

sometimes that color you can only see the blue when it's in the light, it kind of has a blue shine to it. The color can also be altered depending on the color of hair you had before. The color on the box isn't the exact color you'll get. That's the color it will most likely be on gray hair that doesn't have a color already.

mmm
well if you RECENTLY dyed it maybe few days ago it takes a few days to a week or so to have the blue pigment showing. this happend with all haircolor, it doesnt change to the exact color u want it to right away it takes time for the colors to surface, the sun will fade it away easily since its black but it will also help the color show more. dont worry the blue will shows when the sun hits it, you will be able to see the blue strands it wont be blue blue but u know its blue
also try using shampoos specifically designed for color treated hair such as black, it helps bring out the blue and prevents damage

That happenend to me one time. If your is already dark then you wont see it until your near lights or if your outside. I eventually had to get dark blue color in order for it to show up. I later had it changed again to red. Go with what you feel is comfortable to you :)

blue is only visible in day light but it also gives a different shade to the black which makes it more beautiful.

the blue is just a color base for the black. black can consist ofmany undertones. the blue is the undertone and won't really show up. you could wait a little bit strip a few pieces and then color those with a blue dye so that you have the blue showing all of the time. GOOD LUCK

It looks blue in the sunlight. blue-black just means that the black is blue based, rather than brown based, like natural haircolors. It looks blue-er in the sunlight, but won't look very blue inside.
